1. ALL Characters MUST be approved by one of the
moderators before they can start
actively role playing. (Be sure to post your
character’s bio/ description before
you start, so others know who and what you are.)

2. All Characters (species) MUST be found in Tolkien’s
works. There cannot be
anything like unicorns or shape shifters, seeing as no
such things ever existed
in Middle Earth.

3. . Three line posts are strictly prohibited. A lot of people put a lot of time and effort into their posts and find it difficult and frustrating when others do not return with a substantial reply. It is understandable once in a while to have a short post, but please try to keep it to a
minimum. Have pride in what you write and keep in mind to be challenging asmuch as you can.

---Sample for method of posting. First person
narration is not accepted.

~•~Into the mines they all fled, Gandalf last as he
did all that he could to hurry the others to safety.
As it was, the incredulous force of the Watcher’s
attack fell amiss, landing heavily against the stone
doors and splitting them asunder. The monster had
reared up, bearing down its fury upon the mountain
side, and in its madness it broke rock and collapsed
the walls of the entrance. The wizard watched grimly
as the gates were crushed and the archway became
blocked by their ruins. No light came from that way
anymore, and darkness was utterly upon them, until
Gandalf kindled a small stone at the end of his staff
and a gentle white radiance shone forth once more.

“We cannot get out that way now,” said Gandalf
resolutely, while the Company were recovering from
their fright. “So we must take the road through Moria.
We shall move steadily and it will be a journey of
four days to the east gate, if we do not encounter
delay. I cannot promise anything; remain watchful at
all times and do not forget your wits! You shall need
them all before the end. Come Gimli, now is when I
call upon you for aid. You shall walk with me as we
pass through the mines, for I believe your courage may
improve my own hopes.” ~•~

4. It would be preferable if the main characters did
not suddenly have new siblings
(or children). For example, Arwen having a sister.
This would affect the whole
history of Middle Earth. The same would go for Aragorn
having a brother, or a
son for that matter. If you want your character to be
related in anyway with
another character, get approval from a mod AND the
character who you will be
related to.

5. No all powerful characters. No gods, Valar,
whatever. That is not
impressive either. Exception to this rule is someone
playing Sauron.

6. No killing another person’s character unless
otherwise approved.

7. Each character can only be in one place at a time. Ex. Legolas cannot be in Lorien and also in Rohan(threads)

8. Please do not jump into the middle of someone’s
story line and interrupt them.
Most people are doing something of importance and will
get to you as soon as
they can. For example, if Gandalf and Elrond are
speaking together, do not rush
in expecting them to drop everything to answer you.
They might, but they might
not. You will have to be patient and wait for them to
have a chance to respond
appropriately. (Ex. If they are in the middle of a
conversation, they could say
something like "Gandalf noticed a young elf walk into
the room, nodded slightly
to him, then continued his conversation with Elrond." )
Eventually your character
will be brought into the action.

9. You should try and post at least every other day,
If you know that you will be unable to post for an
extended period of time,
then let the moderators know and either find someone
else to auto your character, or place your character in a position so that they will not be needed until you return.

10. NO mixed species, unless it is plausible. For
example, characters that are
half elf an half human are rare, and really the only
ones should be Elrond and
his children. The only other way for this to happen is
if the character is
descended from Idril and Tuor, Luthien and Beren, or
even Earendil and Elwing,
which isn’t very possible. One exception from this
would be to have your
character come from Dol Amroth, where there is elven
blood in the men there.

11. Please respect others. Being civil makes puts us
all in a pleasant and friendly environment.

12. Please refrain from using 'ooc' messages at the
beginning or at the ending of you post, unless it is
extremely important.

Thank you and please reply if anything is unclear, or if you have any suggestions or problems with these rules.
